Fox And The Whale Film

Fox And The Whale is a self financed animated short film. It was made over a course of 16 months. There were quite a few unknowns both on the technical and artistic sides, and it allowed me to experiment on a variety of fronts. The film was Shortlisted for the 90th Oscars and nominated for the 2018 Canadian Screen Awards for Best Animated Short . More information on Film Festivals / Awards can be found here.

Working on this film opened the doors to the wonderful world of Sound Design. My Special thanks to TIM NIELSEN who generously loaned me his personal Field recordings / Sound library. Almost all the soundscape for this film was designed and built using TIM's Library.

Storyreel

This is the original Storyreel for the film with a commentary track which hopefully gives a little window into the early days of the film. The sound here is decoded for Binaural and works best over headphones. ( this video was produced in late 2023 )

Binaural Audio Test

I have lately been fascinated with Ambisonics and Binaural audio. This is a little test to build a more Immersive Soundscape. The final sound design files are decoded to Binaural & best experienced on Headphones. ( this video was produced in late 2023 )
